found a problem

i absolutely loved the first installment of this game, and the sequel is even better in my opinion, the music is also absolutely beautiful as well.

i found a problem however, when it comes to the figure trapped in the ice.

i found when i used my torch to thaw out both items, i went to get the bone, and that replaced the torch in my inventory. i avoided grabbing the arrow as to not get killed, instead i used the map to leave the area, but upon re-entering, the arrow which is encased in the ice, resets back into the ice, and because the bone replaced the torch in my inventory, i can no longer thaw the ice.

i plan on resetting the game, but i thought maybe you'd like to know this.

makopudding responds:

You only need one of the items, you can beat the game with either the arrow or the bone but you can't take both :)

mmm

when is there going to be a sequel to this game... this has been around for awhile now

Nitrome responds:

there is a sequel.....there are actually two sequels! The link to the most recent one (Ice Breaker- the Gathering) is on the title screen :)

review

i like the game, but the thing i couldn't stand were the random mishaps...

talking about running up a ramp (dry), and falling for no reason.

then there was slipping on the floors (dry) even when i wasn't trying to change directions, or again went up (not stairs) a ramp.

changing direction is slow to respond too, multiple times i'd attempt to jump from one edge to another, but because the controls were so slow, i'd end up falling...

most of the other i can't even explain why i was falling over, and yes, i read, and played the tutorial, and understood when, and why I'd fall, but it didn't explain any further anything else that'd be an obstacle that'd be cause to fall.

suppose i'd clean up the reaction time, and add upgrades such as speed, and maybe an agility option, so the clutz isn't always falling for no reason.

Yea thats a low quality bug. Try in medium :(

....

it's alright... music could of been better, even though there was a mute button.

mainly wanted to write a review because of the other people who wrote that the title screen was glitched, and frozen.

'M' to get the menu, and ARROW KEYS to move... please read.

OctoFlash responds:

thanks man, altough i'm not sure if people will read your review... ^^

....

you did a good job on this, but i've played a game similar to this not long ago, and like yours it wasn't finished, or at least was never ending, and had little to no practical value in the current form it was in.

again, i think you did a good job on it, and it probably was good practice, but i'd scrap its present form.

i like the originality of the game, think some things could be added though.

things such as having anything not a solid background.

moving the launching platform in a little further.

randomly changing the angle of the platform.

increasing the speed slightly... needs more, but those are the biggest in my opinion

Lucy88 responds:

I shall include these points in my next game.
